Locks Heath were knocked out the Russell Cotes cup after a 2-1 defeat in the hands of Gosport Borough.
The game at Privett Park saw Locks Heath who have been sensational over the last few months face a tricky tie against Gosport Borough.
And it proved a stern test for Locks Heath against a side who play in the Southern Premier League with the likes of Bashley, Bedford and Kettering Town.
Sammy Igoe who played for Bournemouth just under three years ago, and Portsmouth before that, has joined them.
And he may have proved the difference as he found himself on the scoresheet, whilst Brady Norton grabbed the other to seal Gosport’s passage to the next round.
Ryan Lock scored Locks Heath’s solitary goal which in the end only proved to be a consolation, although they did give Gosport a scare but were unable to force the equaliser.
Next up for Locks Heath is a trip to Hedge End Rangers in the League.
They will be looking to bounce back with their impeccable league form which sees them stand well clear at the top of the Premier Division.
Their opponents, Hedge End, sit in seventh place with 27 points but do have games in hand over their nearest rivals meaning their position in the league may be different to their abilities.
Although, they have lost their last two games and have struggled for consistency of late.
Locks Heath play Hedge End Rangers away this weekend (January 12) at the Norman Rodaway, 2pm kick off.
